FEELS LIKE AN EXTRA
04:24
|
|||
When I was young and free and had imagination
I dreamed I’d change the world
Older and wiser, I saw the world would not move
On my deathbed I wake and then I realise
Sometimes he feels like an extra
In a movie of his own life
Sometimes he feels like an extra
In a movie of his own life
Back in my twilight years I felt all alone
I tried to change my friends
Foolish and broken my friends would not change
On my deathbed I woke up and then I realise
Sometimes he feels like an extra
In a movie of his own life
Sometimes he feels like an extra
In a movie of his own life
Sometimes he feels like an extra
In a movie of his own life
Sometimes he feels like an extra
In a movie of his own life
(Fades away in a moonlit shadow
Fades away, in a moonlit shadow, moonlit shadow)

CONTROL

Look at me now mama on my feet
Been working hard trying just to make ends meet
Got the latest SUV in gun metal grey
And a plasma TV that blocks out the rays
Look at me now Daddy, I’m doing alright
Got my own room for the very first time
It’s a little bit cramped but that’s what you’ll find
If you're living on the city that’s the compromise
Trying to make my way (Trying to make my way)
Taking things day by day (day by day)
Trying find a way, trying to find a way through
Daddy can you hear me, I hope you’ll approve
I’m working all the hours that my body can do
I’m putting down a payment on a holiday home
It’s a little country pad in L’Ville de Rhone
Babba if you hear me, hope you’re doing okay
I wish you could be here to see me making my way
Fifteen long years to become a success
An overnight sensation, hope I’m passing your test
Trying to make my way (Trying to make my way)
Taking things day by day (day by day)
Trying find a way, trying to find a way through
Jenny, can you hear me, I’m doing okay
I got myself a good one, who’s making his way
Seeking out friends in the neighbourhood
I haven’t got me no hobbies though I know that I should
It don’t mean I’m exempt from this common malaise,
I’m seeking the approval of my parents I’d say
Hours of attention to this musical game
Seen as an acceptable form of escape

MAYBE I WILL
03:20
|
|||
Maybe I will, maybe I won’t
Maybe I can, maybe I can’t
The head-spin, the tailwind
The downhill, the speed -dial
Maybe we’ll fly, maybe we won’t
Anima, Anima, Anima
I need you
Maybe we’ll change, maybe we won’t
Maybe we’ll choose, maybe we can’t
The slow-down, the breathing
The stillness, the speed-line
Maybe we will, maybe we won’t
Anima, Anima, Anima
I need you

IN MY ROOM
03:16
|
|||
Here in my room
Everything’s AOK
I’m feeling secure
From the wolves at the door
Got all that I need
For winter’s march
Gathered my store
Feeling secure as I can be
Thankful for my bricks and mortar
To keep me safe from harm
Fair to say we crave our shelter
To keep me from the storm
Just look away
We turn blind eyes
There’s nothing to see
On the deserted street
Got nothing you need
For winter’s reach
You hope for the best
Living from day to day to day
Thankful for my bricks and mortar
To keep me safe from harm
Fair to say we crave our shelter
To keep me from the storm

UNDER THE ORANGE LIGHTS
04:09
|
|||
Under the orange lights
We’ll take a tram tonight
We’ll glide from the suburbs
To the city where the high rises rise
And we’ll make our way
To the Night and Day
We’ll go down to the cellar
where the people come together to meet
And we’ll dance all night
To the flashing lights
In this corner of the city
We’ll make stories for the rest of our lives
And we’ll raise our hands
To the sound of joy
And the beat goes on and on
‘til you can’t take no more
And the beat goes on it goes on
And the beat goes on it goes on
And the beat goes on it goes on
And the beat goes on it goes on
And when the curtain falls
And we’ve found our coats
We’ll make our way through the city
As it empties with its echoing noise
Cos these city lights
Makes the noise so bright
And the beat goes on and on ‘til you can’t take no more
And the beat goes on it goes on
And the beat goes on it goes on
And the beat goes on it goes on
And the beat goes on it goes on
(Hey! we’re living in the moment
Just step out on the sidewalk
It’s easy to say, to do it another thing)

WE ARE WHAT WE EAT
02:44
|

And it follows, that we swallow
Fuels our body and causes waste
I don't need to change she said, I'll always be this way
I don't need to change she said, I'll always be this way

WASTED DAYS
02:57
|
|||
She glances out the window
At youngsters on the ground
Twisted limbs and Nikeys
Living in the now
She cries into her cardi
A moment of regret
Where did all her wasted days go
Where’s the dreams she dreamt?
She broke friends with promises
She swapped her golden path
She reneged on a better life
She faltered at the last
Chopped down her potential
Shut down her dreams
Now she wonders oh if only go ask what if....?
Wasted days on shaded lawns
Sunshine smiles, trading tales
Carefree haze on scattered teens
All to live or wasted days
A rucsac full of promise
A double-decker ride
No limits on potential
Can slow the ebbing tide
She sits alone and wonders
Where did it go wrong
What happened to the lyrics
That filled her favourite song?
She broke friends with her promises
She swapped her golden path
She reneged on a better life
She faltered at the last
Chopped down her potential
Shut down her dreams
Now she wonders oh if only go ask what if....?
Wasted days on shaded lawns
Sunshine smiles, trading tales
Carefree haze on scattered teens
All to live or wasted days

DISTANT SHORES
03:47
|
|||
Lazy days, distant shores
Taking roads we’ve not before
If this is all I’m longing for, I sure feel bad
If this is all I’m longing for, I sure feel bad
Find your feet, welcome yes
Making friends, nice surprise
Field of Dreams, bridge of sighs
Feel your way, box-fresh eyes
If this is all I’m longing for, I sure feel bad
If this is all I’m longing for, I sure feel bad
(Logic seems to say that things will never be the same
But people being people, I’m sure that we can find a way
Experience suggests that we can always learn to change
So I will hold your space if you hold the space of my friends)

SENSE OF BELONGING
04:04
|
|||
Familiar faces, emerge from the dark
Shining a light upon the path
No airs and no graces
No field of dreams
The future is ours or so it seems
The future is ours or so it seems
A sense of belonging
I’ve been here before
This is a place I know for sure
At one with surroundings
I;at peace with my fears
The future is ours or so it seems
(Begone, Begone, Begone, Begone)
The future is ours or so it seems
(Begone, Begone, Begone, Begone)
The future is ours or so it seems

BRRDS Wales, UK
BRRDS are a husband-wife duo from rural South Wales , UK.
Their name comes from an 80’s computer
programme designed to simulate and predict
birds’ flocking behaviour.
They made their name in late 90's electronic wanderers, formula one; and they now record in their home studio, Shaker Heights; a barn full of wheezing synths, creaking computers, and masking-taped
drum machines.
